Fish

Animals with backbones that live in water, breathe through gills and swim with fins.

What is a fish?

Fish take oxygen from water through their gills. Most are covered in scales.

A shark's skeleton isn't made of bone but of bendy cartilage, like the inside of our ears. Dolphins and whales are not fish — they are mammals.
