Warm-blooded

Animals that keep their own body temperature steady whether it's hot or cold: mammals and birds.

What does warm-blooded mean?

Warm-blooded animals make heat from their food. That lets them stay active in snow or desert.

There is a cost: keeping warm takes a lot of energy, so warm-blooded animals need to eat often.
