Climate change

The rise in Earth's average temperature caused by human activity, and the changes in weather that come with it.

How does climate change affect animals?

As the world warms, sea ice at the poles is melting. Polar bears, which need ice to hunt seals, and emperor penguins, which raise chicks on the ice, are struggling.

Warmer seas harm coral and fish; changing rainfall affects forests and wetlands. Saving energy and water, planting trees and recycling all help.
